Art and History in Rimini

Rimini is famous all over the world for its beaches and especially for the nightlife, not comparable with any other beach location in Europe.

Arch of Augustus - ItalyBut Rimini is not just this, few people know that the history of Rimini start in the Paleolithic age, since primitive men had always lived in the area between the coast and the hill of Covignano. From prehistory, Rimini has grown until becoming an important city during the Roman Empire. In 268 BCE Romans “founded” the new colony of Ariminum and allocated a legion and some plebeian settlers from Rome.

The geographic location made it a bulwark against the advance of the Gaul and an outpost for the successive conquers toward the Po Valley. Rimini was an important route of communication between North and Central Italy. From here started three of the most important roman routes, the Via Flaminia, Via Emilia and Via Popilia-Annia.

Under the Roman Empire Rimini flourished and a lot of important monuments were built, monuments that are really must-see like the Tiberius’ Bridge, the Arch of Augustus, that is the most ancient roman arch still existing, after 2050 years. To visit there is also the theatre and the amphitheater, also of roman age. One of the most interesting finding is the famous domus of the surgeon, a house back from the III century, belonged to a rich roman surgeon. Inside there are numerous mosaics but especially there are a lot of surgery tools from the roman age, now exposed at the civic museum.

But also during the medieval era the city was an important center. The city became a Commune during the XII century and as a result of the increasing religious orders that settled there during the XIII century, numerous convents and churches were built. Consequently also some famous artists arrived in the city to plan and decorate these buildings. The great painter Giotto was inspired by the pictorial school of Rimini of the XIV century. Of the famous painter, in Rimini there are still a crucifix and part of a fresco conserved in the St. Augustine Church.

Beyond the religious buildings, we also have to remind the civil buildings that are all crowded around the Civic Square (the actual Cavour Square), the Arengo Palace and the Podestà Palace. In the communal era in fact, the center of power was moved in this area, while the ancient Forum was used as market place and following for merry-go-round.

Following a first phase in which the city embraced the Ghibelline cause, Rimini soon became Guelph. Since 1295 Rimini became a Signoria, whose territory exceeded the geographical limits of Romagna.

Sismondo Castle - ItalyOne of the most famous monuments of this city in Romagna, it is the Malatestian Temple that is still present in all architecture books, even foreign, this Temple was designed by Leon Battista Alberti around 1450 year thanks to Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, the lord of Rimini during the XV century. Another interesting place belonging to this epoch is the Sismondo Castle, the castle-palace of Sigismondo Malatesta, which was started in 1437 and finished in 1446.

This is really a city rich in history, monuments and places of interest, for who wants to dedicate holiday also to art and culture and not just to beaches and tan.

Tips for Travelling to Malaysia

MalaysiaFor those looking for a different cultural experience, or even just a great holiday destination, then adding Malaysia to your travel list will not disappoint. A Malaysian holiday can be a relaxed resort style getaway on one of the islands such as Sabah or Langkawi, bargain shopping and sight-seeing in the capital Kuala Lumpur, or perhaps a combination of both to let you experience the diversity of this amazing country.

For first time travelers to Malaysia there are several tips that will make your holiday less stressful and infinitely more enjoyable, such as:

Check Health Warnings
Before leaving for Malaysia visit your family doctor to check health warnings for the area you intend to visit. If you intend to do any hiking or rainforest walks then you will need to start taking malaria tablets around a week before your departure. Your family doctor will be able to advise of any other precautions or medications that you need.

Airport Transfers
By far the easiest and cheapest way to get from the airport into the capital is via the KLIA Express (airport express train). The train is very modern with video screens showing points of interest and things to do in Malaysia while you enjoy a comfortable ride into Kuala Lumpur in around 35 minutes. Using a bus or taxi transfer will normally take around one hour by comparison and cost a little more. An added convenience when using the KLIA Express to connect with a departing flight is the facility to book your luggage onto your flight from the central train station in Kuala Lumpur (providing you do this at least 2.5 hours before your flight).

Taxi Fares
Always ask how much the fare will be to get to your destination before getting into the taxi. Taxi fares in Malaysia are for the most part quite reasonable however at times a naive traveler can be easy pickings, especially on a return trip from an outlying area so be sure to ask for the cost of the fare beforehand and if it seems too high then you can usually find another taxi to get a better deal. The exception to this however is during peak hours in Kuala Lumpur when you will pay more because of traffic delays. Your hotel concierge can advise you on what the busiest traffic times are likely to be. Planning your movements around the capital outside of these times will save you money if you're on a tight budget.

Don't drink the tap water
To reduce your chances of having your holiday ruined by tummy upsets it is wise not to consume the local tap water. During your stay keep these points in mind:
1) Clean your teeth and toothbrush with bottled water.
2) Remember to specify "No Ice" when ordering cocktails or mixer drinks. (Many of the more up-market resorts and hotels have ice that has been made using filtered or bottled water which is perfectly safe, however if you wish to be extra cautious then it is safer to forgo the ice).

MalaysiaBuy personal items from a supermarket
Make purchases of personal care items such as sunscreen, toothpaste or bottled water from a local supermarket instead of the resort or hotel where you are staying. Although the prices of these items may not seem too expensive you will normally find a supermarket or small convenience store somewhere close to the resort where these items are up to a third of the price that you will pay at the resort. Any money you save on these purchases can be used for souvenir shopping instead.

Restaurants
When you're staying in regional areas and choosing somewhere to eat keep in mind that you are no longer in a western country. Malaysia is a relatively poor country which is more evident in outlying areas than it is in the capital. While in your home country a restaurant in a run down looking building could indicate a possible health risk this is not the case in regional areas of Malaysia as many of the buildings are old because of the general poverty of the population. The best guide for choosing a restaurant is if the local people are happy eating there it is a good indication that the food is safe.

Keep valuables concealed
Always keep wallets, purses, mobile phones etc in your pockets or backpack to avoid the attention of pickpockets, especially in larger cities. Although not a major problem any large population has its share of thieving so it is best to keep your valuables secure. It is also wise to carry your backpack on the front of your body in certain areas such as the china town markets in Kuala Lumpur where it can be quite crowded giving pickpockets a chance to access valuables within the outer compartments of a backpack.

Malaysia is a great holiday destination with excellent shopping, friendly people, wonderful scenery, and delicious food and by following these simple tips you'll have such a memorable time you'll want to return again and again

Amsterdam And Its Museums

Amsterdam - NetherlandAmsterdam is one of the most popular European city destinations in the world. One of Amsterdam's most famous tourist attractions is its museums where one can see modern art, art exhibitions, Dutch art and archeological collections. Travellers from the world over gather in Amsterdam to enjoy its museums and nowhere else in the world can offer the unique experience to be had in Amsterdam -- below we look at just a few of the many available museum attractions.

The Rijksmuseum is the largest and most popular museum in Amsterdam and hosts a wide variety of collections. Currently it is undergoing renovation until 2008 although some of the most important collections are still available for viewing in the Philips Wing where one can see many hundred masterpieces from Amsterdam's Golden Age as a world trading outpost. These include works from Vermeer, Hals and Rembrandt.

The Stedelijk Museum specializes in modern art. Having previously exhibited works from Van Gogh, this museum is over one hundred years old and attracts travelling exhibitions of contempory art from all over the world. Works by Picasso, Cezanne and Renoir can be found here. Until 2008, the Stedelijk Museum has relocated to a temporary location in the former Post Office building

Van Gogh Museum - AmsterdamThe Van Gogh Museum contains the largest collection of Vincent van Gogh paintings in the world. It is a very popular museum of Amsterdam as demonstrated by the hoards of tourists you will see all over the city sporting a prism shaped box containing prints they have purchased from the museum! The museum itself contains over two hundred paintings by Van Gogh, as well as collections by other 19th century artists. Van Gogh is probably Holland's most famous artist and rightly so -- nowhere else in the world can you view his self portraits and famous works such as "Sunflowers".

The Dutch Resistance Museum (also known as Verzetsmuseum) depicts life during the Second World War in Amsterdam when, under occupation by the Germans, locals rallied against their occupiers by plotting against them. A much more emotive and thought provoking museum than those listed above, the Dutch Resistance Museum consists of personal accounts and artefacts, leaving the visitor with lingering thoughts of what they would have done in wartime Amsterdam.

Amsterdam can be considered the museum capital of the world for both the number and sheer variety of collections that can be found in one city. Many can be seen in one day travelling on foot, and even the remote and specialized museums are easily accessible by tram. Nowhere else in the world can boast the museum experience that Amsterdam can.

The Challenge of Conquering Niagara Falls

Niagara FallsOver the years there have been a number of people who have tried to travel down Niagara Falls in a barrel, or other means. While these people may seem to have a death wish this stunt looks like it will continue for years to come. Many people have successfully crossed the falls by walking a tightrope, but it is the barrel stunts that are the most intriguing.

The first successful barrel stunt took place on July 11th, 1886. An Englishman, Carlisle Graham, traveled over the falls in a barrel that he had constructed himself. Luckily, he was a barrel maker by trade, and the barrel held up to the stress.

The first duo to travel the falls in a barrel was George Potts and William Hazlett. They used a barrel built by Carlisle Graham for the stunt on August 8th, 1886.

In November, 1886, the first male and female team successfully navigated the falls in a barrel. George Hazlett and his girlfriend Sadie Allen both survived the stunt without major injury.

The first woman to die whilst attempting the barrel stunt was Maude Willard. She took her pet dog with her in her barrel on September 7th, 1901. She died, but her dog survived.

Willard entered the barrel with her pet dog for the journey through the rapids. As the barrel reached the Whirlpool it became stranding for the next six hours in the middle.

The first woman to travel over the falls in a barrel was a woman named Annie Taylor. On October 24th, 1901, she succeeded in an airtight wooden barrel that had been pressurized using a bicycle pump. Unfortunately her stunt did not lead to great riches, and she eventually died penniless.

On July 25th, 1911, the first person in a non-wooden barrel succeeded. Bobby Leach used a steel barrel, rather than Annie's wooden one. Unlike Annie, he was seriously injured during the plunge, and broke both of his kneecaps and his jaw.

One of the more bizarre attempts to travel over the falls was attempted on July 11th, 1920. An Englishman, named Charles Stephens, used a wooden barrel with an anvil for ballast. He had tied himself to the anvil and, when it was recovered, the barrel was empty, apart from his right arm. The rest of his body had been taken to the bottom by the anvil.

Make Alaska Your Next Vacation Getaway

Alaska - USAIf you are tired of traveling to the same old destinations for your annual vacation, try something new by visiting the largest state in the Union: Alaska. With more than half a million square miles, 39 mountain ranges, and 3,000 rivers, this northern region has much to offer that is new and intriguing to those who are unfamiliar with the area. Ice fields cover about five percent of the state's surface area. Furthermore, nature lovers will enjoy the forests, lakes, glaciers, and surrounding seas and islands that beckon visitors from all over the globe.

Water lovers may be interested in booking an Alaskan cruise. A weeklong cruise between Vancouver, British Columbia and Anchorage, Alaska, is one of the more popular tourist lines, but there are other routes to take as well, including those that follow the seacoast. Visit Kodiak Island, home to numerous species of exotic wildlife including the famed Kodiak bears. Seals, walruses, and many types of birds and other creatures can be viewed in their natural habitats at various intervals along the way. Or you can visit well-known museums and preserves for a closer look at the original inhabitants of this vast land, which is the meaning of "Alaska," an Aleut word possibly coined from Russian origins.

Alaska - USAYou may want to visit Juneau, the state capital, or Anchorage, a larger city with a population of about 250,000. The truly adventurous of heart may try to venture as far north as Barrow, which is just 1,300 miles from the North Pole. Keep in mind that the northern and western regions of the state are not highly populated, and highways have not been constructed for these areas. With the help of a tourist guide or national park ranger, you can see the unbroken wilderness that remains untamed by human hands. Hike the park trails, set foot on a glacier with the help of a helicopter, and enjoy break-taking views of the tall mountain peaks-17 of the 20 highest in the United States, including Mount McKinley at 20,320 feet in Denali National Park and Preserve.

But don't limit your site-seeing excursions to the unsettled land areas. Kayak or canoe one of the many exciting rivers. Sample a cornucopia of cuisines in the larger municipalities. Take a biking tour of fishing towns or resort areas. Shop the many fine shops and boutiques that can be found predominantly in the southeast part of the state. Whatever your recreational tastes-dining, rest, exercise, sports, history, or wildlife-Alaska has it all. You can fish, take a train ride, enjoy a scenic flight, or do just about anything you please when you come to the Far North for the ultimate breakaway vacation with family or alone. Check with your travel agent about the best time to plan your trip, and get ready to have the time of your life!

Underwater World, Pattaya

Underwater World Pattaya is leisure attraction showcasing the rich variety of marine life found around the region. It is located 200 meters south of Tesco Supermarket in South Pattaya. It covers a total area of 4,000 square meters of land and is contained in a structure that replicates a large circus tent. The aquarium presently houses over 4,000 marine animals, encompassing more than 200 different species from the area as well as some rare creatures from abroad. They are all in the ecosystem of underwater world.

In Underwater World Pattaya, visitors are taken on a "voyage to the bottom of the sea", which begins at the sandy beaches and shallow rock pools at the water's edge. From here, you descend into a pedestrian tunnel, passing brightly colored corals and all kinds of exotic ocean-dwellers along the way. The tunnel is 100 meter long and is made of 6.4-centimetre-thick acrylic. It allows you to witness the homes of great shoals of fish, prowling predators and a host of other creatures that inhabit the ocean depths.

Under Water World - PattayaUnderwater World Pattaya also plays an important role in education and marine conservation. School visits are actively supported, and new educational programs are constantly being developed.

A lot of thought has been put into the architectural design of the Underwater World. The structure, similar to a large circus tent, enables the place to have natural light that nurtures the algae. The showcase of Underwater World begins at the "Touch Pool" area, which is a shallow pool that allows visitors to observe and interact with underwater animals such as bamboo sharks, stingrays, starfish, and many species of fish, seaweeds, coloured corals and archer fish. Children and adults alike can touch sea cucumbers and other aquatic life in this pool. More adventurous tourists can volunteer to feed the animals (by paying a fee of around 2500 baht, with gear).

The acrylic underwater passageway is divided into 3 zones. The first part is the "Reef Zone". This features coral reef and an abundance of colourful fish that are relaxing to watch. The next zone is the "Sharks and Rays", displaying sharks, sting rays, ray sharks and turtles among other creatures from the sea. The last is the "Shipwrecks Zone" featuring various kinds of fish that are edible.

Under Water World - PattayaVisitors looking for closer encounters with the residents of the deep sea can try snorkeling or scuba diving within the aquariums. There is a feeding show which usually takes place at around 2pm.This is interesting to watch as experienced divers feed fish like sting rays and sharks.

Visitor’s must-see the rare shovelnose ray, a hybrid between a shark and a stingray. There are three of them at the aquarium that were purchased from local fishermen, who normally kill them for consumption.

The Underwater world, built in 2003, is a popular tourist attraction. Underwater World is open from 9.00 a.m. 6.00 p.m. There’s a souvenir shop at exit if you wish to take a memento back home. Hotel pick-up/drop off from any hotel in Pattaya (South Pattaya) is provided. So if you’re planning to visit Pattaya be sure to check out this modern marvel to encounter the creatures of the deep at a close distance. There are numerous hotels to choose from in Pattaya to make your stay a comfortable one.

A Travellers Guide to Brazil

Brazil BeachThe weather is usually wonderful, and there are countless of activities to do for everyone. To ensure that you have a great travelling experience in Brazil check out these handy hints:

Make sure that you are vaccinated against Yellow Fever. If you have not done so, you will not be allowed to enter the country.

Don’t carry loads of cash around with you. Carry only what you actually require for the activities you are planning for each day.

Don’t take anything around with you that you that you don’t really need, as it will weigh you down and increase the risk of your being a victim of crime.

It's a good idea to make photocopies of your passport and Brazilian visa and use these, rather than the originals as ID when you’re in Brazil. You do not want to try to replace a stolen or lost passport.

Carry your wallet in a money belt or front pocket so that it’s harder for pickpockets to get at it.

Don’t wear expensive looking jewellery and watches, as this can be a magnet for muggers. Leave your expensive jewellery at home, just buy an inexpensive digital watch before you leave and use that instead.

Christ the Redeemer - BrazilWear handbags or strapped purses across your body rather than just on one shoulder, as this will make bag snatching more difficult.

Always avoid very congested places, as these are popular hunting grounds for pickpockets.

Never walk alone at night on empty streets. Even if it takes you a little while longer to get to your destination, there is nothing so important as your safety.

Be sure to hire a real taxi, especially in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Some unlicensed drivers have been known to portray themselves as real taxis, when they are anything but. If in doubt, ask a street cigarette vendor as to which taxis are genuine. Also, real taxis have red or maroon license plates, although these can easily be faked.

Stay away from favelas, as they can sometimes be very violent places swarming with criminals.

Only drink water from sealed bottles, as the tap water in Brazil isn’t always that clean.

Brazil is a hot place, so be sure to stay hydrated by drinking at least two litres of mineral water or coconut water per day.

Don’t stay too long in the sun, and wear sun lotion with the highest SPF you can find.

You may come across some nasty biting insects on your Brazilian adventure, so carry around a can or bottle of insect repellent at all times.

Gold Coast is Great for Whale Watching

Gold Coast - AustraliaEach year between April and November, Australia's eastern coastline comes alive with the spectacular acrobatic displays of humpback whales. After a summer of feeding on krill in the Antarctic waters, these animals migrate north to sub tropical waters where they mate and give birth>During their migration of up to 10,000 kilometres, humpbacks attract thousands of visitors to coastal towns and a great place to view them is from the Gold Coast.

The migration timing can vary from year to year based mostly on the water temperatures. June to august is the most common time for the northern migration then again to the south from September to November. The young males usually lead the groups with the pregnant cows and calves bringing up the rear.

humpback - whaleAt a maximum length of 16 metres, the humpback is not the largest whale found in Australian waters but it is arguably the most iconic. Formerly only being valued for its worth when dead, mainly for its oil and whalebone now it is prized alive, economically and environmentally. Whaling in the 19th century exploded into a thriving business, and the use of large scale whaling boats made sure that some species came very close to extinction.

When southern right whales and blue whales became scarce, the whalers began to target the humpback, killing almost 8300 off the east coast between 1949 and 1962 and by the time the International Whaling Commission banned humpback whaling in the Southern Hemisphere in 1963, the whalers had reduced their population to about 5% of the pre-whaling existence. Illegal whaling by the Soviet Union were responsible for killing over 48,000 humpbacks between 1947 and 1973 and today there are still rogue whalers illegally operating in Australian waters.Thankfully, today, the population has shown steady recovery of around 10 % a year and in 2006 was estimated at around 8,000

Tours in the Gold Coast operate from August and guarantee a 100% daily sighting record Whales in Paradise offers an intimate encounter on an unforgettable Whale watching cruise to the deep blue waters of the Humpback Whale Highway and includes a river/canal cruise past the homes of the rich and famous. It is a half day cruise with tea and coffee provided on a purpose built catamaran for about 60 passengers. Gold Coast Whale Watching departs the Marina Mirage and cruises the Broadwater and Seaway direct to the Whale Migration on a purpose built catamaran with three viewing decks holding up to 120 people. Morning tea is also provided and the skipper provides entertaining and educational commentary.

Holland, Country of History, Culture and Fun!

Netherland - HollandThe Netherlands is a wonderful place to visit. Often referred to as Holland, it is rich in history and culture. It’s evident from the second you arrive in this wonderful country. If you enjoy walking streets and finding yourself surrounded by buildings that played a major role in the success of the Dutch golden age, then Amsterdam would be a good place to visit. As you explore the canal lined streets, you’ll see tall, skinny houses that all used to be warehouses for the vast amount of trade that passed through the city during this golden age. Now converted into high end housing and commercial units, the history and grandeur hasn’t been lost. There are even some that have been preserved and turned into museums, so that you can see what houses back then looked like. Many famous people had homes in Amsterdam, and those have been preserved also. Some of the famous names that have museums dedicated to them include Rembrandt and Anne Frank. There are endless amounts of sights and attractions in this beautiful city, you won’t be disappointed.

The Hague is also filled with a lot of history, but its feel is more international than Amsterdam, due to the fact that the international courts are located here, along with all the embassies and multinational companies such as Shell oil. The city is also more continental than others in the Netherlands, due to its wide avenues and streets, more so than the rest of the country. Its 18th century mansions are quite different from the tall houses that line the streets of Amsterdam. The Hague also has 11km of coastline, which Amsterdam cannot compete with. There are still plenty of museums here and a lot to see, you’ll soon find that the history, although maybe somewhat different than Amsterdam, is still evident while you explore this wealthy Dutch city.

Rotterdam is more of a modern metropolis than the other cities. Although the city also has history, it’s hard to see this in the heart of the city, as the center was leveled during the Second World War, on the bombing raids that led to the fall of Holland to the Germans. This is why you’ll find that the architecture in Rotterdam is a lot more modern and a must see if you love modern architecture. You best bet to discover this city is to get a tour to take you around, as it’s a large city without a real center, so to appreciate it, a tour will give you a better picture of this modern metropolis.

TulipThe rest of Holland is filled with cities, towns and small villages. Rent a car, drive through the small roads and stop of at a few small villages, head north along the coast, through places like Callantsoog and experience village life, walk on the beach, explore the flower fields (during spring). It’s a small country, but it has a big heart, friendly people and will leave a lifelong impression on you.

If you wish to learn a bit more about Holland and its attractions, come visit www.comevisitholland.com for more information, and you’ll soon be booking your trip!

Rome, A Must-See City

Coliseum - ItalyRome, the eternal city, where art, culture and literature are alive today as in the days of Michelangelo, gives everybody the chance to discover its wonderful open air “museums”: the Vatican city, the Imperial Forum, Sant’Angelo Castle and the majesty of the Coliseum.

Thousands of years of history, distinguished by the presence of glorious Empires, consigned to Rome an artistic heritage as few other places in the world. Everywhere in this city it is possible to find traces of a secular culture, where the constant flux of tourists crowds all the hotels and the monuments in Rome. The Italian capital leaves everybody breathless: treasures of incomparable beauty made of squares, palaces, alleys, churches and fountains. Rome can proposes a series of itineraries, inside the city and in the neighborhood, that enable the tourist to find out and admire the fascination of such a wonderful city, its history, art, its beauties and traditions. Starting from the Trevi fountain, an obliged stop for who is visiting Rome, realized under the portico of Clemente XII around 1735 AD along Poli Palace, this is a work by the architect Nicolò Salvi and today is still flowed by the Vergine aqueduct projected in 19 BCE by the Consul Agrippa.

The small Trevi square, that hosts Rome’s most famous fountain, is probably the place most crowded by visitors, who, as the tradition says, launch a coin in the pool hoping that this gesture could guarantee them to come back once again to Rome. The next stop is Via del Corso, a very important road of the historical Rome, on which overlooks the Dora Pamphilj palace; from here we can reach the famous Venice Square, geometric center of the city and also the union point of the most important roads of the city. This square has been created in the 15 century and here we can find some very important art works as Palazzo Venezia and the Basilica di San Marco, that rises at the foot of the Capitol Hill, now location of the Rome municipality that hosts three palaces (of the Senators, of Conservators and Palazzo Nuovo).

The Capitol Hill is the smallest of the seven hills and the ancient religious center of the city; here it is possible to admire the statue of Marcus Aurelius, on the opposite square. Leaving from the Capitol Hill we walk along Imperial Fora street, one of Rome’s most suggestive roads, until we arrive at the Roman Forum, the symbol of the ancient roman civilization. Continuing our journey in the ancient Rome, not far away from the Roman Forum, we can not help but see both the Coliseum, the symbol par excellence of Roman power and one of the most famous monuments in the world, and the Arch of Constantinople. The original name is Flavian Amphitheater and in the ancient times it was the seat of various shows with fights between gladiators and wild beasts, it could accommodate until 45,000 spectators.

Monument of Victor Emanuel - ItalyDo not forget: the Monument to VIttorio Emanuele II, the Altar of the Fatherland, Sant’Angelo Castle along the River Tiber and the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, in the Ostiense district; the Pantheon, a roman temple built by Agrippa in 27 AD, dedicated to all the gods; the Mouth of the Truth along the river Tiber and the Cestia Pyramid in the Ostiense district; the church of Santa Maria Maggiore on the Esquiline Hill; the Sistine Chapel with the very famous Michelangelo’s fresco “The last Judgment”; Piazza Navona, where there are Rome and Italy’s most beautiful hotels, the famous square has been arranged by Bernini and here there is also the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi and the Obelisk in front of the Church of Sant’Agnese in Agone.

Finally, we remind you that each year more than one million people come from every continent to visit the Basilica di San Pietro, the Vatican Palaces, which constitute a unique art and monumental center in the world.

Rome can also offer a varied gastronomy, suited to meet al tastes and expectations among which the Jewish and exotic cuisine, various Indian restaurants that can offer also typical dishes of the Asiatic cuisine, such as tandoori and kebab. Or the most delicious dishes of the Argentina cuisine (mainly meat) accompanied by an excellent selection of South American wines to be tasted with the background of shows of tango and folklore. Or you can taste the real American cuisine, with great international music, a vast exhibition of objects belonging to rock stars from all over the world and a shop with customized articles, all this at the Hard Rock Café. Here it is also possible to arrange private parties inside this local. For lovers of live music we recommend a visit to Viale Trastevere, staying in a hotel in Rome where you can attend performances of the best blues, rock and jazz musicians; the local has a well-stocked bar, you can eat there and there are also about one hundred fifty seats to attend the show for which the reservation is always recommended.
